Fishing Log

Argentina's Fragata Libertad under sail

Libertad berthed at NAVSTA Mayport

Sunday, July 20, 2003 - Caught another flounder at Foxtrot Cove and toured the Argentine tall ship Fragata Libertad, with Kathy.  We had lunch at the golf course, on base.  Yesterday I watched a flounder rise up out of the sand and hit my jig.  I hadn't rigged the landing net so I almost lost the fish.  Base Security arrived minutes after I'd boxed the fish and ran everyone off the seawall.

Monday, July 21, 2003 - Caught an 18 inch trout at B/C Corner after work and saw a 4 foot barracuda at Fox Cove.  I tossed a jig at him but he showed no interest in it.

Saturday, July 26, 2003 - Released several blues and croakers at B/C Corner before work, and landed a 17 inch flounder during lunch, at F-Pier, with workmates watching.  The fish cut my line and I had to crawl down onto the rocks to keep it from escaping.  A close save.

Sunday, July 27, 2003 - Gave the fish a rest today and went to grandson Mason's birthday party.
